What do you get when you cross a chain link fence with anything? Tons of weed trees! Our decades-old chain link fence teamed up with a substantial gang of Norway maples in the corner of our lot. The fence protects the trees from chain saws and in turn, the trees protect the fence from bolt cutters. It's a potent pair. How to bring order to this court? Enter the dragon, the stump grinder. After a few days of hacking down as much chainlink as possible with a sawzall, the stump grinder came in to leave a path of sweet utter destruction.
In the same chaotic day, the fence builders came to make like it never happened, extending our nice clean cedar stockade straight across to the back corner of the lot. This was a major reclamation of space. Stay tuned for the the trees we put in to replace the "invasive" Norway maples.
